Plainly

How these books are made.

David Luria

Hi, my name’s David Luria. I’m a 61-year-old author, husband, dad, and yoga teacher, with more than twenty years in technology and change management.

I write books for people living through change, and I use AI to help me. This page tells you who, what, where, why and how, so you can decide how much that matters to you.

Who

I run Corso & Alexander. I write and edit every book myself. Other people appear where they are credited: my sister Estela Luria is credited on When the Keys Go as a subject-matter expert, not as a writer, and Dan Levy narrates the audiobook of Soulmate Seeker Affirmations. The AI tools I work with are Claude, Grok and ChatGPT.

A note on a pen name

Two titles, Cancer Patient Affirmations (2022) and Soulmate Seeker Affirmations (2023), were published under the pen name John Elliot. That was me. I wrote and edited them.

What

Plain, practical books on three kinds of change: a parent who is changing, you, while everything around you moves, and an organization that is changing. They sit on three shelves: caregiving, mindfulness and affirmations, and change and projects.

Where

The books are sold on Amazon. This site holds free samples, the notes, and everything on this page.

Why

We exist to take the friction out of home and work. I write for the person holding it together: a parent slipping, a mind that won’t settle, a team that won’t turn. I teach yoga and I write for the same reason: to help people slow down enough to see what is happening to them, and then do the next sensible thing.

How

I write and edit every book myself. AI helps around the writing. Here is the split.

David does

  • Writes and edits the books.
  • Chooses which books get made and which do not.
  • Decides when a book is finished.
  • Signs off on the factual claims a reader could act on, such as money, health and law.

AI does

  • Reads chapters against a written quality standard and reports what it finds.
  • Builds the typeset interior of some books, which I proof on a printed copy.
  • Does repetitive production work around the book, and helps keep this website.

What you can hold me to

  • I wrote and edited it, under my own name or a pen name I have told you about.
  • Before a book goes out, I sign off on the claims a reader could act on.
  • If this page stops being true, I change this page first.

A book is a promise that someone stands behind the words. I would rather tell you how the work gets done than have you guess. If something here changes, this page changes first.
